Tips for good pet photos
Basically, a clear, close-up photo in natural light works best for most
pets but here are some tips which may help you take the perfect photo:
-
Try to take a photo with your pet’s head filling as much of
the frame as you can, whilst keeping in focus.
-
Don’t use a flash as this will distort the real colours of
your pet and may cause red-eye. The exception to this is if your pet
is black, when a flash can be used to bring out details, which may not
be visible under natural light.
-
Take you pictures at your pet’s level rather than looking down
on them.
-
Try to use good natural light but not direct sunlight. If this isn‘t
possible, take your photos near a window with your back to the window
and your pet facing it.
-
Enlist someone’s help to encourage your pet to look at the
camera by using treats and toys.
-
At least 3 good photos is ideal, but please include as many as you
can so that the portrait will bring out your pet’s character.
